Anniston Police Respond to Shooting on Christine Ave

Anniston, AL – Per the Anniston Police Investigative Division on June 24, 2023, at approximately 10:00 am, officers of the Anniston Police Department responded to the 1000 block of South Christine Avenue in reference to a shooting that occurred. When they arrived, they found the victim lying inside the residence. The victim was identified as Joshua Andrew Arnold W/M, from Anniston, Alabama. The victim was transported to Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center, and was later flown to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. At the time of this press release, the victim was in critical condition.

A suspect was taken into custody at the scene. The suspect was identified as Tristan Clay Arnold W/M, from Panama City, Florida. Investigators spoke with the suspect who identified himself as a cousin of the victim. The suspect was in Anniston visiting family members.

It is believed the suspect and victim got into a physical altercation which led to the shooting. The suspect was placed under arrest for Assault 1st Degree and transported to the Calhoun County Jail. A bond has not yet been set.
This is an ongoing investigation. No other information will be available at this time.
This was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the community.
