Anniston Residents Alerted to Amtrak Service Changes due to Norfolk Southern Track Work

Amtrak Service Impacted by Track Repairs

Anniston, AL – Residents of Anniston are advised to be aware of the impact on Amtrak’s Crescent train service as Norfolk Southern conducts track work affecting Anniston’s Multi-Modal Station at 126 West 4th Street. This maintenance period is scheduled to continue from Monday through Thursday until February 29, 2024.

During these weekdays, Amtrak’s Crescent service will not continue south from Atlanta to Anniston. This alteration is in effect to accommodate the necessary track work being carried out by Norfolk Southern. However, Amtrak has arranged for a bus substitution that will operate Monday through Thursday, ensuring an alternative mode of transportation is available for patrons during the maintenance period.

It’s important for Amtrak patrons to be aware of this schedule adjustment and plan accordingly if their travel plans fall within the specified days. On the brighter side, the Crescent train will continue to operate normally on Fridays through Sundays throughout the maintenance period.

Amtrak extends gratitude to its patrons for their understanding and cooperation during this temporary service adjustment and sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience caused. For up-to-date reservation and train status information, individuals are encouraged to visit https://www.amtrak.com, utilize Amtrak’s free mobile app, or contact Amtrak via call/text at 800-USA-RAIL (800-872-7245).
