Anniston Sets Hearing Date for Consideration of Revoking Rooftop 801 Business License

Anniston, AL – Special Called Council Meeting 

The purpose of the called meeting was for the consideration of a Resolution to set a public hearing on petition to revoke the business license for the business known as Rooftop 801.

All members of the council were present for this meeting. City Manager, Steven Folks read the request to set a public hearing due to use and sale or dispensing of alcoholic beverages without a license, occupancies in excess of allowed numbers, the allowance of the smoking of tobacco and marijuana within the premises, offensive conduct including numerous assaults, the use and discharge of fireworks within the premises, and unreasonably loud, disturbing, unnecessary and excessive volume, the denial of access by public safety and medical personnel.

The city manager requests that the council set a public hearing and consider resolution to revoke the business license. He also also stated that this decision was not reached without attempting to reach a collaborative resolution with he business owners.

The public hearing was unanimously approved and the hearing will be set for July 24th at 5:00 pm. All interested parties are welcome to speak at the hearing as well has members of the public.
