Anniston, AL – On Thursday, June 6, at 11:00 AM, the Anniston Museums and Gardens will host a special memorial event to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the pivotal Allied invasion of Normandy during World War II. The event will take place at 840 Museum Drive, Anniston, AL 36206, and is open to the public, with all community members and visitors invited to attend.
This year’s commemoration is particularly significant as it honors the 80th anniversary of the June 6, 1944 invasion, known as Operation Overlord. The Berman Foundation has organized a program that promises to be both educational and moving. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from esteemed guest speaker Dr. Robert Zeimet (USNR Ret.), a former Naval Academy professor who currently teaches at Jacksonville State University. The event is free to attend, and complimentary coffee and water will be provided for guests.
