Anniston to Launch Semi-Professional Basketball Club

Anniston, AL – The City of Anniston and their Parks & Recreation Department is planning to launch Anniston first Semi-Professional Basketball Club. This team will consist of players and coaches from the Anniston community and it will compete in the PeachBasket Club System.

In starting this venture, they are seeking a HeadCoach. Coaches and players will be under the direction of the Club Manager, La’Ray Williams. In year one, the coaching staff and players will be voluntary; however, once revenue generation begin through league play, subsequent years will plan to have coaches and players hired and paid through the PeachBasket Club System. The team will consist of 15 players. The city will host a player combine on June 10, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the Anniston Aquatics & Fitness Center Gymnasium. Those planning to attend the combine must register, and pay their $25 registration fee, at this link: https://annistonballclub.square.site
League play will run from July 2023 to September 2023. Anniston’s club will compete against the leagues’ current, Georgia based clubs. Plans are in place to further expand the League in Alabama in future years. The season will consist of 16 games, eight home games and eight away games. The Final Four playoffs will take place in Anniston from October 13, 2023 to October 15, 2023.
At this time, the city plan is to host a player combine on June 10th at the Anniston Aquatic & Fitness Center Gymnasium (130 Summerall Gate Rd, Anniston, AL 36205) from 11AM to 2PM. Season play will start in July 2023.
