Anniston, AL – Outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers are invited to join the Anniston Museums and Gardens for a guided Trail Walk on Saturday, March 22, at 9:30 a.m. at the Longleaf Botanical Gardens. This event is part of the museum’s Trail Walk series in celebration of the Alabama Tourism Department’s designation of 2025 as the Year of the Trails.
The Longleaf Botanical Gardens (LBG) is home to four scenic nature trails, including the Bird of Prey Trail, and is a recognized member of the Alabama Birding Trail. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the Longleaf Trail on a guided hike led by an Educational Interpreter. As nature emerges from winter, attendees can witness the season’s fresh foliage and observe a variety of bird species in their natural habitat.
This program is designed to encourage outdoor appreciation and is open to all ages. Those planning to attend are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather and wear sturdy footwear for the hike. The event will begin at the front of the Longleaf Event Center, where participants will gather before setting off on the trail.
The Trail Walk series occurs twice a month from January through May, providing multiple opportunities for visitors to engage with Alabama’s diverse landscapes. The March 22 event is free of charge, and museum admission is not required to participate.
For anyone seeking an immersive nature experience and a chance to celebrate Alabama’s rich outdoor heritage, this Trail Walk offers the perfect opportunity to explore the great outdoors in Anniston.
