Anniston Woman Dies in Multi-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 431

Randolph County, AL – A multi-vehicle crash on Thursday, July 25, at approximately 7:07 p.m. has resulted in the death of an Anniston woman. The incident occurred on U.S. 431 near the 200-mile marker, about 10 miles north of Wedowee, in Randolph County.

Serinity N. Richmond, 21, was driving a 2016 Nissan Altima 2.5 when her vehicle was struck by a 2017 Ram 1500 driven by Tyson D. McCarthy, 20, of Pell City. Richmond was pronounced dead at the scene.

McCarthy sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, for treatment. A 10-year-old passenger in the Nissan Altima was also seriously injured. The child was airlifted to a nearby hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced deceased.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division are conducting an investigation into the crash. Further details are not available at this time.
