Anniston, AL – The Anniston Police Department issued a press release regarding a 29 year old woman found shot to death in her residence. The release is as follows:
“On June 19, 2023, at approximately 02:55 pm, officers of the Anniston Police Department responded to the 300 block of Elm Street in reference to an unconscious female. When they arrived, they found a deceased female lying inside the residence. The victim was later identified as B/F Jasmine Nicole Whitson (29), from Anniston, Alabama. The investigation revealed the victim had been shot.
This is an ongoing investigation. No other information will be available at this time.

Anniston Police Chief, Nick Bowles, stated that the call for police assistance came from inside the residence. He also stated that this incident appears to be isolated and there is no danger to the community.
