CALHOUN COUNTY – A single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning claimed the life of an Anniston woman.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the crash occurred at approximately 5:39 a.m. on March 23. Abbigail M. Stovall, 21, was fatally injured when the 2019 Kia Optima she was driving left the roadway, struck a culvert, and overturned. Authorities stated that Stovall was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, resulting in her being ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash took place on Peeks Hill Road, near Rock Springs Road, approximately six miles east of Ohatchee in Calhoun County.
Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing to investigate the incident. No further details are available at this time.
