Anniston, AL –The City of Anniston has proudly unveiled thier remarkable economic achievements, showcasing an impressive 27% increase in sales tax revenues over the past five years, starting from 2015. Concurrently, General Fund revenues have also followed a similar upward trajectory, rising by a substantial 23% during the same period. Jackson Hodges, the Public Relations Director for Anniston, emphasized, “These statistics unequivocally demonstrate Anniston’s steadfast fiscal management and the unwavering commitment of its residents to invest in their beloved community.”

Mr. Hodges then laid out a vision for the future, detailing Anniston’s dedication to enhancing the lives of its residents and invigorating its communities. The fact that the city is embarking on a series of transformative capital projects, exceeding a total investment of $20 million, with completion slated for the period spanning late 2023 to early 2024. Notable among these projects are The City Market, *Leighton Avenue Paving, The Dr. Satcher & St. Michael’s Health Clinic, affordable housing initiatives in collaboration with the Anniston Housing Authority (*Barber Terrace & South Allen Duplex Apartments), *Noble Street Park, the expansion of the *Anniston Regional Fire Training Center, Force Factory expansion at the Anniston Museums & Gardens, the Martha Vandervoort Center to combat homelessness, *playground and splash pad upgrades at city parks, and the highly anticipated Chief Ladiga Trail.
