Anniston, AL – On Saturday evening, the Centennial Memorial Park in Anniston was adorned with flickering candles and somber reflections as the Alabama Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) held their annual candlelight vigil. The event, dedicated to honoring surviving families of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty, featured Attorney General Steve Marshall as the keynote speaker.

In an exclusive interview with the Calhoun Journal, Attorney General Marshall shared the significance of his presence at the event, “First of all, because this is National Crime Victims Rights week. It’s important to be around the state to be able to share not only what victims need, but also ways that we can be helpful. Particularly for this organization, C.O.P.S. focuses on law enforcement survivors, knowing the tragic loss of life that they deal with. It’s especially important for me to be here for this event. I’m grateful for this organization and all they do and want to be able to support them.”
