- Proclamation – Girls Flag Football Team – The Oxford City Council issued a proclamation to the Oxford High School Flag Football team at tonight’s council meeting for their outstanding season. After playing for the state title at Auburn’s Jordan Hare Stadium, the team finished as the class 6A state runner-up.

- Rick Schiffhauer, owner and president of Smash It Sports based in Rochester, NY spoke about bringing a pro women’s softball team to Oxford. Mr. Schiffhauer spoke about seeing “long range potential in Choccolocco Park.” Choccolocco Park currently has hosted USA and USSSA national tournaments. He also stated that if an agreement could be reached with the city commitments he has commitments ad plans to bring future tournaments to the park. Council members gave Don Hudson permission to seek a written contract proposal from Mr. Schiffhauer to be formally considered at a later date.
