CALHOUN COUNTY, AL — Poultry breeders and enthusiasts will have an opportunity to buy, sell and trade birds during the Bantam Breeder Summer Swap & Sale later this month.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 29, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Calhoun County Ag Center.
Organizers describe the gathering as an opportunity to bring together breeders and poultry enthusiasts interested in quality poultry and established bloodlines. Attendees will be able to meet breeders, learn more about available birds and potentially find new additions for their own flocks or breeding programs.
Unlike a traditional poultry show, the Summer Swap & Sale is centered around direct interaction between breeders, sellers and buyers, giving participants an opportunity to discuss individual birds, breeding programs and bloodlines.
The event is being organized by Homesley Homestead, Fall River Farms and additional organizers.
According to the event announcement, the Summer Swap & Sale is open to the public. Those interested in attending can visit the Calhoun County Ag Center beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29.
