Let Your Hands Do the Talking! During this 8-week beginning sign language course, you will learn the manual alphabet, basic signs, and deaf culture. Not only will you learn to communicate with your hands, but you will develop fine motor skills, improve listening skills, and improve your spelling. After 8 weeks, you will be able to:
· Count to 10 – and beyond – with a single hand.
· Communicate across a crowded room without raising your voice.
· Talk with your mouth full while minding your manners.
· Sign the Pledge of Allegiance of the United States and improve fluency through song.
For ages 10+

Instructor: Angela White
Angela White is an Administrative Assistant in the College of Business & Industry at Jacksonville State University. At an early age she developed a friendship that greatly impacted her life and led her down a path of teaching and communicating with the deaf. Angela gets fulfillment sharing her love of sign language with others in a fun, interactive way. During the pandemic Angela picked up quilting and made five quilts for friends and family. She and her husband, Bob, are recent empty nesters. They enjoy spending time playing games, playing the piano, and hiking this beautiful state.
