Brown Family Multi-Generational Home Lost to Fire

Loss of Brown Family Multi-Generational Home Lost to Fire

Anniston, AL – Earlier in the month of March, the severe storms with extremely high winds blew a tree over into a power line that ignited the home of Robin Brown and family. The resulting fire ravaged the home causing sever damage. The house is unlivable. If it can be repaired it will obviously take several thousands of dollars. The electrical fire was so bad it burned a hole through a metal roof through the ceiling then the flames burned through 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. The water from the fire hoses flooded one entire half of the house. The entire home suffers from severe smoke damage. There was no insurance on the home. Three generations have been displaced with family members staying with various family and friends and some staying in a hotel room for now. The household members work but live week to week, but have stated that, “Any and all help is very much appreciated.”

Robin Brown got the first estimate in to fix the house a few weeks after the fire and it was for well over $100,000. She is going to get a second estimate. Some family members have construction backgrounds so they will do as much of the work as they can themselves. The family is rallying today. Donations have given them a breathe of fresh air. “This is absolutely terrifying to us all” stated a family member.  Benjamin Brown, the organizer of the GoFundMe shared that, “They had just paid this place off. Money was tight when the insurance renewal came due. They had a dilemma that many families face, whether to pay Peter or Paul. For those who read this but do not know this family. The do not ask anybody for anything. They work for their bread. I can convey that they are all touched by your prayers and generosity. As I family member that loves them all very much I personally thank you all. You are helping take care of my people and I appreciate that.”

The Brown’s have no idea how they will cover the extraordinary cost of recovery from this fire. All contributions are greatly appreciated. They thank all for their kindness, help, and prayers.

*If anyone would like to contribute feel free to use the GoFundMe that was setup for the family.
