We had the opportunity to speak with Donna Eady, of the newly reopened Buckhorn Marketplace also known as the Buckhorn Express Mart. Ms. Eady has been an employee of Samco for 14 years. When she started describing a few of the products offered she was very eager to share that the fresh meat comes from local vendors. She also wanted to stress that while not as large as other alternatives they consider themselves a mini full range grocery store. You can find beer, wine, cigarettes, meat, frozen selections, and of course fresh produce. Many of the items offered are local such as meat, wine, and honey. The marketplace only hires local employees and is looking to grow their available products such as Hunts Brothers Pizza that will be coming in about two weeks. Fresh meat cutting is another service they plan on adding soon as well.
The Buckhorn Marketplace is very customer service oriented. If customers have an item they want to be carried just let the management know which product and they will try and accommodate. They are happy to grow and get more products in stock. If you want to know who to ask for, Mike is the manager and Heather is the assistant manager. Both will be happy to answer any questions or requests that customers may have.
The store hours are 7:00 am – 8:00 pm seven days a week. They do have a Facebook page you can like and follow as well.
