Calhoun County 4-H Hosts Spring County Contest at Ken Joiner Administration Building

Calhoun County 4-H Spring County Contest

Calhoun County, AL – Calhoun County 4-H held its highly anticipated Spring County Contest on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Ken Joiner Administration Building. The evening began with Hollis Lackey leading participants and attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H Pledge, setting the tone for a celebration of youth leadership, creativity, and public speaking.

The event featured 4-H members competing in the popular “Have I Got A Story” contest, where participants showcased their storytelling skills by sharing heartfelt and imaginative tales before an audience. In addition to the storytelling competition, student projects were on display from the eXtreme Birdhouse, Graphic Design, and What Wood You Build contests, highlighting the diverse talents and hard work of Calhoun County youth.

To qualify for County Contest, participants must first win at the classroom or club level. First and second place winners from this county-level competition now have the opportunity to represent Calhoun County at the Eastern Regional Competition, which will take place on May 1 at Central Alabama Community College.
