CALHOUN COUNTY, AL — The Ken Joiner Calhoun County Administration Building, along with several other county offices, will delay opening on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, to accommodate a countywide employee meeting focused on staff development and training.
County offices, including the Calhoun County Commission, Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, and administrative departments such as the License Commissioner’s Office, Revenue Commissioner’s Office, Probate Court, Highway Department, and Emergency Management Agency, will open at 10:00 AM instead of their usual start time. Offices will remain open until 4:30 PM, maintaining regular afternoon business hours.
This delayed opening also affects the county license and tag office annexes in Alexandria and Piedmont.
The Calhoun County Courthouse is not impacted by this change and will operate on its normal schedule.
Officials stated that the purpose of the delay is to allow all county personnel to attend a countywide meeting as part of an ongoing investment in professional development. The training underscores Calhoun County’s commitment to enhancing the knowledge, performance, and service of its workforce.
“We appreciate the public’s patience and understanding during this brief delay in service,” officials shared, emphasizing the long-term benefit of the initiative for county residents.
For regular business needs on May 14, the public is encouraged to plan around the delayed start time.
