Alexandria, AL – MVP Lea leads the way as Cherokee County wins Class 4A, Area 12 title. Runner-up Alexandria also clinches North Regional berth. Spring Garden takes 1A, Area 12 title, and Faith Christian also clinches regional berth.

Most valuable player Macy Lea dished out 61 assists in two Class 4A, Area 12 tournament matches, and Cherokee County won the area title.

The Warriors beat White Plains 25-23, 25-18, 25-14 in the semifinals and Alexandria 25-23, 22-25, 25-23, 12-25, 15-12 in the finals.

Cherokee County (40-13) and Alexandria advanced to next week’s North Regional at Hoover.

Joining Lea on the all-tournament team were Cherokee County teammates Nevaeh Gaidurgis, Jolie Alexander, Ellisan Givens and Ava Haygood. Gaidurgis was offensive MVP.

Cherokee County’s top performers:

—Macy Lea: 62 assists, 12 digs, four kills.
—Ava Haygood: 22 kills, 11 digs, four blocks.
—Jolie Alexander: 19 kills, seven aces, five blocks, five digs, one assist.
—Ellisan Givens: 27 digs, two aces, five assists.
—Nevaeh Gaidurgis: 30 kills, 17 digs, three blocks, one ace.
—Lilly Shaw: five kills, three blocks, one dig.
—Jesslyn Hincy: 17 digs, two aces, two assists.

ALEXANDRIA: The Valley Cubs finished as Class 4A, Area 12 runners up, clinching a North Regional berth. They beat Hokes Bluff 25-5, 25-12, 25-15 and fell to Cherokee County 23-25, 25-22, 23-25, 25-12, 12-15.

Charlee Parris, Eryn Spradley, Sophie Martin and Landry Patterson made the all-tournament team, and Parris was defensive MVP.

—McKinley Cooper: 13 kills, two digs, one block.
—Eryn Spradley: 27 kills, one assist, 10 digs, six aces.
—Kylie Jeffers: two kills, one dig.
—Cassidy Hartsfield: six kills, one dig, two blocks, two aces.
—Kaden Pritchett: eight kills, one dig.
—Landry Pattterson: one assist, 20 digs, five aces.
—Zayley Mobbs: five digs.
—Shelby Morris: 19 digs, four aces.
—Charlee Parris: one assist, 25 digs, four aces.
—Sophie Martin: six kills, 53 assists, seven digs, three aces, one block.
—Cali Hess: nine kills, six digs.

HOKES BLUFF: The Eagles eliminated Anniston then fell to Alexandria, 5-25, 12-25, 15-25 in the semifinals.

Hokes Bluff’s Addison Simmons and Mazely Ball made the all-tournament team. The Eagles’ top performers:

—Addison Simmons: 11 kills, three blocks.
—Mazely Ball: nine kills, four blocks.
—Chloe Dodd: six kills, four blocks.
—Mary Davenport: 15 assists.
—Makenna Bennich: nine aces, four blocks.
—Haylen Marbut: six digs.

WHITE PLAINS: The Wildcats fell to Cherokee County, 23-25, 18-25, 14-25.

White Plains’ Leighton Arnold and Sara Kate Adams made the all-tournament team. White Plains’ top performers:

—Leighton Arnold: 11 digs, three kills, two blocks, two aces.
—Carli Fritts: eight digs, three kills, one block, three aces.
—Aubrey: three digs, four kills, two blocks.
—Anna: six digs.
—Sara Kate Adams: three digs, seven kills, one block, two aces.
—Brooklyn: one dig, one kill, two blocks.
—Savannah: nine digs, two blocks.

Class 1A, Area 12

SPRING GARDEN: Defending Class 1A state champion Spring Garden swept its way to the area title, beating Woodland 25-3, 25-6, 25-4 in the semifinals and Faith Christian in the championship match, 25-18, 25-10, 25-23.

Spring Garden and Faith Christian advanced to next week’s North Regional at Hoover.

Spring Garden’s top performers:

—Ace Austin: 36 kills, four digs, one ace, one block.
—Avery Steward: 56 assists, three digs, five aces.
—Maggie Jarrett: 10 kills, six digs, two aces, one block.
—Olivia Law: eight kills, five aces, four digs, four blocks.
—Kristen Lewis: eight aces, 12 digs.
—Montana Highfield: four kills, four aces, two digs, one assist.
—Lleyton Carroll: four aces.
—Belle Bussler: two aces.
—Lacie Jo McMurray: two digs.
—Aubrey Kelley: two assists.
—Chloe Fennell: two kills, two digs.
—Hollis Jane Petty: one ace.

FAITH CHRISTIAN: The Lions eliminated Jacksonville Christian before falling to Spring Garden but clinched a regional berth with their runner-up finish.

—Annalie Daniel: 15 digs, 4 aces.
—Kayson Cronan: 14 digs, nine aces, three kills, three digs.
—Cheyanne Rice: nine aces, 19 kills, three blocks, one dig.
—Serenity Pate: 13 kills, five blocks.
—Annie Ricard: 16 kills, three blocks, three aces, two digs.
—Anna Kate Robertson: 33 assists,  two kills, two aces, one dig.
—Kolee Cronan: 12 assists, one kill, three aces.
—Emma Shaw: three digs.
