    • Traffic Enforcement Agreement – North Central Alabama Highway Safety Office – Unanimously Approved
      • The Franklin County Commission will act in its role as the approved Sub Grantee for all Traffic Safety Funding and will be the pass-through agency for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration/ADECA Let’s Traffic Safety Funds.
    • Interpreter Service Agreement – Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind – Unanimously Approved
      • The Calhoun County Probate Court and Calhoun County Commission entered into a service agreement.
    • Surplus Property Resolution – Probate Office Savin Copier – Unanimously Approved
      • Surplus item is a Savin IM 5000 – Copy Machine.
    • Subdivision Approval – RaceTrac Alexandria Gate 5 Plat – Unanimously Approved
      • A proposed subdivision has been reviewed and inspected by the Engineering Department.
    • Passage and Levy of Additional Vehicle License and Registration Fee Resolution – Unanimously Approved
      • The County will levy a $2 fee on each new registration, transfer, or renewal on any vehicle on the County commencing on January 1st, 2025. The additional fees will be distributed on a monthly basis by the License Commission to the Sheriff to be deposited in the Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Fund and be used for law enforcement purposes.
      • Commissioner Shears explained that this came about due to the Sheriff’s Office losing funding from pistol permits not being required. The funds from the $2 will go the the Sheriff’s Office.
  • Public Comments
    • Audrey Maxwell – announced that many fall festivities would be happening in our area, Jazz/Music Fest in Anniston this weekend, the Chamber is sponsoring a Business Decorating Contest for businesses decorating for fall and/or Halloween. Entries can be submitted to the Chamber’s social media pages and all will judged by State Tourism personnel.
    • Chandy Gordon- with A.S.A.P. foundation announced they will be sponsoring free carwashes for all military/vets and their families, this will be held at Xtreme Car Wash in Anniston tomorrow, October 11. They also have the national drug take-back day scheduled for October 26.
    • Dr. David West w/ Extension Office announced they will be hosting a pecan workshop on October 25 and there will be a hog show at the Ag Center on October 19th.
