- Public Comments
- Danni Croker spoke about the League for Animal Welfare. She shared her concerns regarding animal abuse as well as the management by current owner, Heather Wilson. She stated the property was valued at $145,000 and sold to Ms. Wilson for $10,000. She stated this was illegal as Ms. Wilson is the director and treasure and has dismissed all board members and would not disclose current board members, if any, which is illegal for a 501(3)c. She also stated Ms. Wilson has verbally stated an intent to euthanize all animals in the facility. Ms. Croker stated that Anniston Police (APD) have gone in to verify allegations on multiple occasions and that per APD they are the agency in this jurisdiction. She stated she has provided information to the DA and they are currently looking into the situation. She provided a packet of information to the commissioners. *The League is not a county run facility and is privately owned in the City of Anniston.
- Audrey Maxwell with the Calhoun County Chamber thanked the commission for their support and mentioned all the many events that are being held in and around Calhoun County.
