- The Commission qualifies for funding under the Energy Efficiency, and Conservation Block Grant Program through the US Department of Energy and must submit grant application by April 28th.
- EMA EMPG – State Sub award Agreement – Unanimously Approved
- The amount of the award is $2,979.0
- Board Appointment – Highland Health Systems Board – Unanimously Approved
- The Commission submitted Tobi Burt and Highland Health found this to be in conflict with the Board’s Conflict of Interests Policy. The Commission now appoints Mrs. Shelley Burt to fill the vacancy for the unexpired term ending January 2025.

- Public Comments
- Jakob Williamson from the Chamber of Commerce announced there will be a State of Law Enforcement where ALEA will have a presentation of what has been occuring in law enforcement over the previous year. This will be held at the Anniston Regional Training Center (Fire Station) on May 9th at 9:00 a.m.
- Audrey Maxwell, Chamber Tourism Director, reminded everyone about the Annual Small Business Awards that will be held at the Oxford Civic Center on June 8th @ 5:00 p.m. Registeration can be done on the Chamber of Commerce website. She also announced that May will bring visitors/tourists to our area with several events that will be taking place: Baseball Tournaments at Choccolocco Park and at JSU, Noble Street Festival with the Sunny King bike race, and the Cheaha Challenge.
- Dr. David West, Extension Manager, addressed about the recent 4-H awards where they had over 100 people in attendance. He announced that the work at Piney Wood Chapel would begin soon and they would still need volunteers to help with that project. He commended everyone that helped make the Earth Day event a success. They had over 700 students attend those activities.
