      • Passed with much thanks to the finance depart for the hard work in creating the budget. Total budget exceeds $79 million dollars and includes COLA increase for full time employees of $2,600 a year and $1.25 an hour increase for part-time and seasonal workers.
  • Public Comments
    • Audrey Maxwell with the Chamber of Commerce spoke and first introduced the newest employee, Jakob Williamson. Mr. Williamson is charge of Public Affairs for the Chamber. She then went on to remind all of the many events coming up the business expo as well as the upcoming fall events and of course sports.
    • Alan Robison with the Anniston Museum and Gardens reminded all that the fall festival will be coming up n October 1st.
    • Representatives from the Agency for Substance Abuse Prevention wanted to thank the commission for sponsoring their comic book in the county schools.
    • Dr. Reyes wanted to thank the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Depart for their partnership and working on bringing in two canine dogs for the schools.
    • Amanda Draper was introduced as a new Commission employee. She is in the HR Department.
    • Myles Chamblee with the Calhoun County EMA reminded all that September is National Preparedness Month. He also confirmed that COVID numbers are low with 13 in the hospitals.
