      • Commission Patterson said these funds would go toward the parts lot explanation and new restroom. He also credited the City of Jacksonville for maintaining the grass at Ladiga Landing and along the trail.
    • Alabama Power – Calhoun County Jail Easement Access – Unanimously Approved
      • An agreement will be granted for a temporary easement for power to be available for the mobile kitchen at the Calhoun County Jail.
    • ADEM Recycling Grant Resolution – Unanimously Approved
      • Authorization to apply for a grant for the purchases of two (2) Ford250 Super Duty trucks for use in developing, implementing, and enhancing local recycling, reuse, and wast minimization projects and programs. the grant os to no exceed $93,410.00.
    • Alabama Tourism Grant Resolution – Unanimously Approved
      • Authorization to apply for a grant to enhance Alabama Tourism specifically targeting out of state tourism. The grant amount is for $5,200.
    • Liquor Tax Penalty Waiver Resolution – Charlies Tobacco Outlet – Unanimously Approved
      • Granted due to mitigating circumstances due to out of the outcry travel concerning emergency family matters.
    • Board Appointment – McClellan Development Authority Board, At Large – Unanimously Approved
      • Jason Morris was nominated by Commissioner Howell to fill the expired term of Aaron Acker. the term will run from March 2024 to March 2027.
  • Public Comments
      • An announcement was made that Mark Tyner has tendered notice of his retirement effective June 1st.
      • Audrey Maxwell with the Chamber of Commerce noted the many events that are upcoming and the continued efforts to bring tropism to Calhoun County.
      • Jakob Williams with the Calhoun County Chamber spoke about the upcoming forums for Probate Judge and Board of Education.
      • Allen George and thanked all the commission for their commitment to the County and the DA’s office. He also is running for Calhoun County Board of Education and shared his desire to be a voice for the parents, faculty, and students of Calhoun County.
      • Dr. David West wanted to note the success of the Arbor Day giveaway that was held in Jacksonville.
      • Joe Lathers spoke in regards to running for Calhoun County Board of Education. He requested a vote and spoke to Calhoun County being his home. His wife was a graduate of Saks High School and he has two girls that attends school in Calhoun County. He currently serves as an Alabama Trooper and also served in the Marines. He looks forward to serving on the Board of Education.
      • Myles Chamblee, director of the EMA, wanted to remind all of the tax free weekend coming up.
  • Adjourn to Executive Session – Unanimously Approved
