    • Commission Meeting Change Resolution – Unanimously Approved
      • The Thursday, August 25th meeting is now canceled and a new meeting for September 8th is scheduled.
  • Public Comments
    • A resident spoke concerning a code enforcement violation where she state4s she has video of county/city workers dumping debris in her yard, but she has been forced to pay $500 for the removal. She also states that she was assured this matter would be resolved, but it was not. After the meeting sh meet with the code enforcement officer as well as the the city attorney to resolve the matter.
    • Dr. Reyes, County School Superintendent shared that they had a great start to the school year. There were 7,846 student s present on the first day and no bus mishaps with drops off were reported. He is excited about the various football games coming up and encouraged all to come put and support the teams, cheerleaders, and band members. He also wanted to publicly thank Sheriff Wade for the partnership they are building. He also thanked the Oxford Police Department for their help during the in-service meeting. Commissioner Shears shared the two employees had stated how excited they were to work under Dr. Reyes. Commissioner Hess said he has seen how excited the staff is and thinks this is a great start to a wonderful year. Chairman Patterson said they he fills Dr. Reyes is guiding the school system is a positive directions and looking forward to see what is next.
    • Ed Turner thanked the Commission for their continued support with the water department.
    • Anniston City Councilman Jay Jenkins just stated he was thankful to be here. He later that day went on to make an announcement concerning RMC.
