Calhoun County, AL – In a show of unwavering solidarity and compassion, the local community has come together to support Shirley Millwood and her son Dakota following a harrowing accident on Highway 431. Dakota’s vehicle was rear-ended by a utility truck, causing his Jeep to erupt in flames. Both Dakota and his friend are currently undergoing intensive treatment at the ICU/Trauma Burn Unit at UAB.
Dakota has already undergone the first of what could be many surgeries, with another scheduled in the coming days to address his burns. Meanwhile, Shirley, Dakota’s devoted mother, remains close by but faces the challenge of being unable to stay overnight at the hospital.
In response to this heartbreaking situation, the Alabama Punishers LEMC Mt Cheaha Chapter, along with other members of the community, have initiated a fundraising campaign to alleviate the financial burden of hotel costs and travel expenses for Shirley and Dakota.
The fundraiser, organized by the Alabama Punishers LEMC Mt Cheaha Chapter, underscores the collective desire to provide tangible support during this difficult time. Donations can be made through Cashapp ($mtcheahapunishers) or PayPal (@SAnkerich), with “SM Donation” specified in the notes.
Shawn “Froggy” Ankerich, a dedicated member of the Alabama Punishers LEMC Mt Cheaha Chapter, is available to address inquiries or facilitate alternative donation methods at 256-458-5430.
The community expresses profound gratitude to all who contribute, whether through financial assistance, prayers, or acts of kindness. Together, they stand united, offering solace and strength to Shirley and Dakota and thier famiy as they navigate this devastating chapter of their lives.
