Calhoun County, AL – The Calhoun County Emergency Management Agency is transitioning to a new mass notification platform used to distribute emergency alerts and public safety information to residents.
Beginning Sept. 1, 2026, the county will begin using the Rave Alert Mass Notification System. The platform will replace the Regroup Mass Notification System currently used by Calhoun County EMA.
According to the agency, Rave Alert will be used to distribute notifications related to severe weather, emergencies, disasters and other situations that may affect public safety.
The transition will take place over several months. Regroup will remain operational while the new system is implemented and is scheduled to be completely phased out by Nov. 30, 2026. After that date, messages previously sent or received through Regroup will no longer be accessible.
Residents who are already registered with Regroup will be automatically enrolled in the Rave Alert system, according to Calhoun County EMA. Those residents will continue receiving emergency notifications during the transition and do not need to register again unless otherwise notified.
Residents can sign up for alerts, update their contact information or manage their notification preferences through the county’s Smart911 registration system.
A text-only option is also available. Residents can text CalhounEMA to 67283 to sign up for text message alerts.
