Flawless Delivery focuses on customer service, problem-solving, communication and empathy skills for employees who regularly interact with visitors and residents. The program is supported by the Alabama Community College System and the Alabama Tourism Department.

“Hospitality is about so much more than a transaction or a destination,” said Cher Dulaney, tourism director for the Calhoun County Area Chamber & Visitors Center. “It’s about how people feel when they interact with us and the memories they take with them. Investing in the people who deliver that experience is one of the best things we can do for tourism and for our community.”

Instructor Craig Johnston said participants demonstrated enthusiasm for their work and a commitment to providing quality service.

“Working with the amazing tourism professionals in Calhoun County was a delight,” Johnston said. “They are passionate about people, love what they do, and want to make a difference every day in someone’s world. They truly reflect the beauty of the community in their behaviors and commitment to delivering great hospitality to all.”

According to organizers, Flawless Delivery has trained more than 1,500 hospitality professionals in 59 Alabama counties. Participants have represented hotels, attractions, restaurants, tourism organizations, parks, museums and other visitor-facing businesses and organizations.

The program is intended to help communities strengthen the visitor experience by providing hospitality workers with tools for communicating with guests, addressing problems and providing consistent customer service.

For Visit Calhoun County, organizers said the training is part of a broader effort to increase awareness of local tourism, strengthen collaboration among tourism partners and improve experiences for residents and visitors.

“Every interaction is an opportunity to tell our story,” Dulaney said. “When we work together and make hospitality a priority, we create a stronger experience for everyone—and that makes Calhoun County a place people want to visit, enjoy and come back to.”
