PIEDMONT — Back from injury, Piedmont quarterback Cole Wilson completed eight of 16 passes for 313 yards and five touchdowns Friday as the undefeated Bulldogs celebrated homecoming with a 58-16 victory over B.B. Comer.

Wilson, who missed Piedmont’s victory at Westbrook Christian last week, also rushed for 77 yards and two touchdowns.

Rollie Pinto caught four passes for 160 yards and three touchdowns, and Ishmael Bethel had three catches for 152 yards and two touchdowns.

Hayes Gunn led all Piedmont rushers with 81 yards on 12 carries with one touchdown.

Piedmont (5-0) outgained Comer 533 total yards to 239.

Playing in their second year under head coach Jonathan Miller, the Bulldogs are 9-2 after starting the 2023 season 1-4.

WELLBORN 41, CLEBURNE COUNTY 10: Jaxon Newton rushed for 160 yards and a touchdown, and the Panthers improved to 5-0 with a non-region victory over Cleburne County.

Raymond Williams added 96 rushing yards and a touchdown, and Caleb McCurry rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown. Wellborn rushed for 448 yards.

Quarterback Aziah Amberson completed three of five passes for 39 yards and rushed for 26 yards.

Wellborn continues its best start since opening the 2020 season 8-0.

OXFORD 35, HELENA 10: Caleb Wynn rushed for three touchdowns, including a 70-yard touchdown run, and Oxford upped to 6-0.

Mason Mims threw touchdown passes to Jalin Taylor and D.K. Wilson.

HOKES BLUFF 35, GLENCOE 0: Quarterback Bryce Whitaker rushed for 173 yards and three touchdowns and hit on three of four passes for 46 yards as improved to 5-0.

Whitaker’s touchdown runs covered 21, 14 and 68 yards.

Blaine Barron added a 25-yard touchdown run, and Brenton Hale rushed five yards for a touchdown.

Bronner McMurry carried 17 times for 86 yards. Hokes Bluff rushed for 379 of its 425 total yards.

PLEASANT VALLEY 8, WOODLAND 6: Cooper Dougal’s 68-yard touchdown pass to Hunter Sparks and Jaden Sparks’ conversion run in the fourth quarter proved decisive.

Pleasant Valley improved to 4-2 overall, 4-0 on the road.

“The thing that is so special about this team is their ability to find ways to win late in games,” Pleasant Valley coach Jonathan Nix said. “Our defense is playing better and better each week. They are flying around the ball and getting after it.”

Hunter Sparks had 95 receiving yards, and Jaden Sparks passed for 70 yards. Kayden Vick had 12 rushes for a team-high 98 yards.

Braxton Salster led the defense with 12 tackles, including one tackle for loss. He had an interception and two pass breakups.

Noah Johnson also had 12 tackles, and Jaden Sparks added nine tackles with a tackle for loss, one quarterback hurry and two pass breakups.

Walker Roper had six tackles, with a tackle for loss, and two hurries. Hunter Sparks added five tackles and an interception, and J.D. Denham had five tackles with a tackle for loss.

OHATCHEE 54, DONOHO 13: Jake Roberson hit on 11 of 16 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns, and Ohatchee (3-3) won its second consecutive game.

Brayden Collins had a team-high five catches for 103 yards, and Colby Hester caught four passes for 86 yards and two touchdowns.

Nate Jones rushed 18 times for a team-high 183 yards and two touchdowns, Jayden Heard had five carries for 128 yards and two touchdowns.

SAKS 42, CENTRAL-COOSA 0: Juelz Mcclellan rushed for 171 yards, and Lajuan Curry rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns as Saks (2-4) marked homecoming with its second victory in three games.

Arnez Heard added 60 rushing yards and a touchdown, and Jacori Avery rushed for 51 yards and two touchdowns.

Shannon Noel led the Wildcats with 10 tackles, and Tyler Rucker’s eight tackles included two sacks.

Curry and Heard each intercepted a pass.

ALEXANDRIA 36, SARDIS 14: J.J. Beason rushed for 126 yards and a touchdown, and Alexandria (3-2) won its second consecutive game. He also caught three passes for 39 yards and a touchdown and had an interception.

M.J. Morris added 92 yards rushing and two touchdowns, and Elijah Hunter rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown.

Cole Wheeler completed six of 10 passes for 160 yards and a touchdown.

WHITE PLAINS 28, HORSESHOE BEND 27: Rodney Perry rushed for 170 yards and four touchdowns on 30 carries, and White Plains improved to 2-3 with a victory in overtime.

He also had 20 yards on three pass receptions as White Plains won without injured running back P.J. Holloway.

Crew Martin completed eight of 14 passes for 83 yards.

WESBROOK CHRISTIAN 52, MUNFORD 21: Quarterback Brody Blevins accounted for 333 total yards and five touchdowns as the Warriors improved to 3-2.

Blevins rushed 22 times for 173 yards and four touchdowns, and he completed seven of 10 passes for 160 yards and a touchdown.

Westbrook rushed for 222 yards and got rushing touchdowns from Brodey Wood and Sam Sollie.

Maximus Jones caught Blevins’ 58-yard touchdown pass, and Brody Johnson caught four passes for 68 yards.

HANDLEY 31, LANETT 12: Quarterback Cordan Patterson accounted for 188 total yards and a touchdown, and Handley upped to 4-2.

He completed eight of 23 passes for 147 yards, including a 34-yard touchdown pass to Elijah Stegall. Patterson also rushed for 41 yards.

Jamarcus Daniel led all Handley rushers with 69 yards and a touchdown. Daquavion Slaughter rushed for two touchdowns.

EZEKIAL 80, JACKSONVILLE CHRISTIAN 58: Noah Lee completed 32 of 50 passes for 486 yards and four touchdowns, but JCA fell to 5-2 in Montgomery.

Lee also rushed for 77 yards and three touchdowns.

Jesse Gannaway caught 18 passes for 328 yards and three touchdowns and returned a fumble for a touchdown.

Bryson Dowdey had 12 catches for 135 yards and a touchdown.
