Calhoun County, AL — Last week, a committee of administrators, parents, and community stakeholders came together to kick off the development of a five-year strategic plan for Calhoun County Schools. To ensure the plan reflects the priorities of the entire community, the school system is urging residents to participate in a stakeholder survey designed to gather valuable input.
The survey, available at CalhounCountySchools.com, is open to parents, teachers, and community members. By answering a few quick questions, participants can directly influence the direction and goals of the school system for the next five years.
Board President Michael Webb emphasized the importance of community involvement, stating, “I am very thankful for our team of administrators, community members, and parents who gave up their day to meet and compile a list of questions to survey our community. While the team helping to organize the questions was only about 20 people, the overall mission is to receive feedback from thousands in the community. This strategic plan is not the superintendent’s plan or the board’s plan. This will be the plan of the great citizens of Calhoun County. Once we are able to see exactly what the people want, I will be excited for our team to begin working on completing the goals!”
Superintendent Tonny Willis echoed these sentiments, noting, “We are excited about not just developing a Five-Year Strategic Plan but making sure it represents the needs and desires of what this community wants and expects from our schools. We want every citizen of this county to have the opportunity to be heard in regard to how we can better serve the community and produce students better equipped to help our community now and in the future.”
The survey is part of a broader effort to engage with the community and align the school system’s goals with the expectations of stakeholders. Input from this initiative will guide decisions that shape educational priorities, improve student outcomes, and strengthen ties between schools and the community.
Residents are encouraged to complete the survey as soon as possible and join in shaping the future of education in Calhoun County. Together, the community can help create a brighter future for all students.
