ANNISTON, AL — The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Foundation is preparing for its annual community Turkey Fry, scheduled for Wednesday, November 26, at 400 W 8th Street in Anniston. The event offers residents the opportunity to have their Thanksgiving turkeys professionally fried while supporting the Foundation’s ongoing community programs.

Turkey drop-off will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and a $25 donation is requested at the time of drop-off. According to event guidelines, all turkeys must arrive fully thawed and weigh 20 pounds or less. The Foundation noted that all turkeys will be fried in peanut oil, a factor important for those with allergies.

Sheriff Falon Hurst encouraged community members to take advantage of the service, noting both the convenience and safety benefits. “Just a reminder, if interested! We’d love to save you the hassle — and the chance of burning down your house! Let us take care of it this year!” Hurst said.

The Turkey Fry has become a seasonal tradition for the Sheriff’s Foundation, offering residents a way to simplify holiday meal preparations while contributing to charitable initiatives in Calhoun County.
