Calhoun County, AL – The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating recent property crimes and is calling on the public for help. By encouraging community involvement, the Sheriff’s Office hopes to improve public safety and hold those accountable for these criminal activities.
Incident 1: Sometime around 11/10/24, copper wiring was cut from the power line of a residence on US Hwy 278 in Piedmont.
Incident 2: Sometime around 11/12/24, approximately 10 T-Posts were stolen from a fenceline at a residence on Cochran Springs Road in Ohatchee.
Catch of the Week: A homeowner on New Liberty Rd saw a vehicle trespassing on his property through his security cameras. The occupants fled through the woods, and when deputies arrived on the scene, they had the vehicle towed. The driver of the vehicle, Johnathan Green, contacted the Sheriff’s Office to get his vehicle back. A search warrant was obtained for the vehicle, revealing a wallet containing multiple debit and credit cards belonging to another individual that had reported the wallet as stolen previously. The District Attorney’s Office approved warrants for Receiving Stolen Property, and Johnathan Green was served with said warrants. This subject is being held at the Calhoun County Jail on the charges of Probation Violation (Possession of Controlled Substance) and Receiving Stolen Property 3rd.
