Calhoun County, AL – The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating recent property crimes and is calling on the public for help. By encouraging community involvement, the Sheriff’s Office hopes to improve public safety and hold those accountable for these criminal activities.
Property Crime: On August 20, deputies were dispatched to a convenience store on Valley Cub Dr. in Alexandria in reference to a theft report.The store attendant told deputies that a man came into the store asking for cartons of cigarettes. When the attendant put the items on the counter, 9 cartons in total, the man created a ruse to get her to divert her attention before running out of the store with the cartons. The total value of merchandise stolen was over $1000. The witness described the man as a black male with tattoos on his face. She stated that after darting out the door with the items in tow, the suspect fled the scene in a white Chevy Impala with Florida registration.
Catch of the Week: On August 16, deputies were dispatched to Chinch Creek Road in Anniston where a property owner claimed that he saw on a personal trail camera that a white male and female entered his residence. The man told deputies that he saw the two individuals on the camera feed removing items from the home and placing them in a Blue SUV. Upon arrival, deputies encountered the blue SUV attempting to leave the driveway of the property and flashed their patrol lights. Deputies made contact with the two occupants of the vehicle, who were identified as Brian Louvier and Tiffany Triplett. Louvierclaimed that he thought the residence was abandoned. When asked what items had been taken, Louvier admitted to taking various items from the residence. Both Louvier and Triplett were arrested and taken into custody.
