Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Public’s Help in Solving Recent Property Crimes as well Highlights ‘Catch of the Week’

Calhoun County, AL – The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating recent property crimes and is calling on the public for help. By encouraging community involvement, the Sheriff’s Office hopes to improve public safety and hold those accountable for these criminal activities.

Incident 1: Sometime between 4/9/25 and 4/13/25, a John Deer lawn mower was stolen from a residence on Setter Dr in Anniston.

Incident 2: Sometime between 3/18/24 and 4/20/25 a 1965 Ford Mustang and a 1985 Ford F150 were stolen from a residence on Lincoln Street in Anniston.

Incident 3: Sometime on 4/20/25 a gray Hyundai Elantra was stolen from a residence on Holland Finley Rd.

 

 

Catch of the Week: On 4/17/25, a local business notified the Sheriff’s Office of suspicious activity. Members of the agency’s Detective Bureau responded to the business, and ultimately arrested Jamal JareekRichardson and Octavious Edward Elmore. The detective’s interview revealed that the suspects were attempting to purchase several thousands of dollars’ worth of equipment using fake identification and fake financial documents. The investigation also revealed that these individuals have perpetrated similar scams in multiple states across the southeast. Jamal Richardson is charged with Obstructing Justice Using False ID and Encoded Data Fraud. Octavious Elmore is charged with Obstructing Justice Using False ID and Encoded Data Fraud. A third individual, Jaquez Jordan Joseph, fled from the scene but now has active warrants for Attempted Theft 1st by Deception and Encoded Data Fraud. *All parties are assumed innocent until proven guilty.
