Calhoun County Traffic Fatality Claims the Life of a Piedmont Man

Piedmont, AL – Per the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), a two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 6:52 p.m. Sunday, July 30, has claimed the life of a Piedmont man. Marcus T. Raney Jr., 48, was fatally injured when the 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle that he was operating struck the 2015 Nisan Frontier driven by Hannah M. Bagwell, 28, also of Piedmont. Raney was pronounced deceased at the scene. Bagwell was injured and airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham. The crash occurred on U.S. 278 near 153 mile marker, less than one mile west of Piedmont city limits, in Calhoun County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
