Anniston, AL – In a heartwarming celebration of the holiday spirit, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of the Cheaha Region hosted its inaugural Christmas event on Sunday, December 17th, at the historic Kress building on Noble Street in Anniston. The event, aimed at fundraising for CASA’s mission of speaking up for abused and neglected children, turned out to be a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on the community.

More than 70 children were treated to a day filled with joy, laughter, and festive activities at the Kress. The event featured crafts, treats, story time, and special appearances by beloved characters, including Santa Claus, Frosty the Snowman, the Grinch, and the star of the day, Buddy the Elf. The enchanting atmosphere created an unforgettable experience for the children, fostering a sense of holiday magic.

Laura Miller, the dedicated director and organizer of the event, expressed her delight at the overwhelming success of the fundraiser. She commended the incredible turnout and the invaluable support from both volunteers and corporate sponsors. Miller highlighted the generosity of people during the holiday season, emphasizing how the community came together to make the event a memorable and uplifting occasion.

During her remarks, Miller underscored the ongoing needs of abused and neglected children, emphasizing that the challenges they face persist throughout the year. She called on the community to consider making contributions, either through donations or by volunteering their time, to support CASA’s mission beyond the festive season.

The Inaugural Christmas event not only brought holiday cheer to the children in attendance but also raised awareness about the critical work CASA undertakes in advocating for the rights and well-being of vulnerable children in the Cheaha Region.

As the Christmas season continues, CASA extends its gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the event and encourages continued support for the organization’s vital mission.
