Jacksonville, AL – The City of Jacksonville invites the community to join in a vibrant celebration of Black History Month at the Jacksonville Community Center on Sunday, February 18th, at 2:00 pm. This event promises an enriching afternoon filled with cultural expressions, musical performances, and recognition of local talent.

The Black History Month program aims to honor the rich cultural heritage, contributions, and achievements of African Americans throughout history. The event promises a dynamic and engaging lineup, featuring the soulful melodies of the Jacksonville High School Jazz Band. Additional surprises and performances are expected, ensuring a diverse and entertaining program for all attendees.

The Jacksonville Arts Council’s African animal art contests have sparked creativity within the community, and the winners will be acknowledged during the program. Highlighting the commitment to education and empowering the younger generation, the program will include the presentation of a $500 scholarship to a deserving Jacksonville high school senior.
