Anniston, AL – Today marked a significant milestone for Martha’s Hope, the homelessness transitional living facility in Calhoun County, as the community celebrated the second round of check presentations. This event signifies a major step forward in the mission to eradicate homelessness in the region. The Martha Vandervoort Center is more than just a building; it serves as a beacon of hope, providing emergency and transitional housing alongside comprehensive services. Through the tremendous support from the City of Anniston, private donors, and local businesses, an impressive $1,745,000 has been raised.
Generous donors including Auto Custom Carpets, BR Williams, The Calhoun Presbyterian Apartment Foundation, Eastman, ERA King, First Bank of Alabama, Grace Episcopal Church, J. Brittain Associates, Golden Springs Baptist Church, The Chris and Sherrell Waddle Giving Fund, SAMCO, Southern States Bank, and The Community Foundation of Northeast Alabama have contributed to this remarkable achievement. While today’s celebration showcases the community’s generosity, the journey to end homelessness is far from complete. Continued support is essential, as every donation brings the mission closer to providing shelter for mothers and their children, reigniting hope for veterans, and equipping young adults with the tools to succeed.
Community support can make a transformative difference, lifting the entire community. Contributions and additional information can be found on the organization’s website.
