Members of JSU’s Delta Zeta sorority have held two workdays at Chimney Peak over the past week – picking up trash and removing graffiti – as part of its national Pink Goes Green initiative. This natural resource has long been a favorite lookout spot for locals, nature lovers and stargazers.
“Recently, we have seen an increase in traffic and visitors to this special part of town – and with that has come a drastic increase of garbage and graffiti,” said Leigha Cauthen, the university’s government relations director. “I would like to thank the members of Delta Zeta in their efforts to make Chimney Peak a place the community can come and enjoy.”
