Oxford, AL – The Choccolocco Monsters are proud to announce that their inaugural season will be heard on local radio airwaves thanks to a partnership with the Woodard Broadcasting Group based out of Oxford. All games, home and away will be heard on WVOK 97.9 FM for the 2022 season.

From Monsters:

“Our organization is extremely excited to partner with 97.9 WVOK and the Woodard Broadcasting Group for the 2022 Choccolocco Monsters baseball season” Monsters President/GM Scott Brand said. “Having both our home and away games on the radio is always vital to the success of our teams. As important as having our games available for our fans, is having an active partner and with the Woodard broadcast family being a voice of Jacksonville State, Oxford High School, Wellborn High School, and the Atlanta Braves, we are honored to be associated with a station that is community driven.”

From WVOK:

When we heard the news about a new baseball league coming to town, we just had to be a part of it. We’re excited about our partnership with Ignite Sports and the Choccolocco Monsters. We’re even more excited to bring these games to our listeners.

WVOK, 97.9 FM is East Alabama’s Favorite Music and all games home and away will be heard live on their airwaves. The Sunbelt Baseball League season will be approximately 30 games in the 2022 season, currently comprised of 9 teams mostly hubbed out of the Metro-Atlanta area. The Sunbelt league was established in 2005 and is recognized by Major League Baseball as part of the National Alliance of College Summer Baseball (NACSB).

The Monsters are currently in the process of searching for an assistant general manager and director of baseball operations for the 2022 season. The team’s logo and colors will be unveiled soon as well.
