Oxford, AL – Choccolocco Park, the premier sports and recreational venue in the region, is set to host the “Battle at the Big House,” a highly anticipated fall softball series featuring six top collegiate teams from Alabama and Georgia. The event, presented in partnership with Northeast Alabama Community College, will span two days, with games scheduled for Saturday, September 21, and Sunday, October 27, 2024.
The event promises to bring thrilling competition to Oxford, with some of the best collegiate softball talent from across the Southeast taking the field. Choccolocco Park Director Billy Thompson expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming series. “We are pleased to welcome these players to the ever-increasing roster of athletic talents from around the state, nation, and world, which have graced the fields of Choccolocco Park,” Thompson said. “We are excited to welcome these teams, their fans, and all fans of the sport to come and enjoy the games and discover all the great things the city of Oxford has to offer.”
Choccolocco Park has established itself as a premier destination for high-caliber sporting events, having previously hosted international teams during exhibition matches before the 2022 World Games and serving as the venue for several state and national baseball and softball conference championships.
