Work Session

  1. Call to order.
  2. Roll call. – All present except Council Member Coty Galloway
  3. Acceptance of minutes. – No changes made to the 9/10/18 minutes
  4. Metro Crime Information Center – Oxford Police Chief Bill Partridge. – Item moved to Council Meeting Agenda
  5. Tornado Financial Update – Presented by Laura Copeland and added to the minutes
  6. Metal Detector Doors for Municipal Court. – Requested as a result of a concern for safety. Cost estimate is $8,008.06. Purchase to be added as an amendment for consideration on Council Meeting tonight.
  7. Chief of Police Job Description. – To be added as an amendment for consideration on Council Meeting tonight.  Motion will have to go before the Civil Service Board for approval as well.
  8. Any Other Business.

  10. Consider action to approve the FY 2019 General Fund Budget, with the approved Cost of Living Adjustment. Unanimously Accepted
  11. Consider action to approve the FY 2019 Water Works, Gas & Sewer Budget, with the approved Cost of Living Adjustment. Unanimously Accepted
    1. Consider action to approve the Retail On-Premise Malt/Brewed Beverage and Retail On-Premise Table Wine License application of Steven Katsinas (Eclectic Café), d/b/a Effina’s Tuscan Grill, located at 501 Pelham Road, North, Jacksonville, Alabama (new owner application). Unanimously Accepted
  12. Consider action to authorize the payment of up to $161,833.60 for Debris Removal to the Calhoun County Commission. Unanimously Accepted
  13. Consider action to authorize the payment of up to $22,703.25 for Debris Removal Monitoring Services to the Calhoun County Commission. Unanimously Accepted
    1. Consider action to approve the agreement between Stan Gowen, d/b/a Heirloom Group, Inc. regarding rental of the old fire department building at 116 Ladiga Street, SE Jacksonville, Alabama. Unanimously Accepted
  14. Consider action to approve the WWG&SB charged off accounts in the amount of $9,559.58 for the period February 10 – July 10, 2018. Unanimously Accepted
    1. Consider action to approve the revised Police Chief job description, Range 30, and request the Civil Service Board’s approval of same. Unanimously Accepted
