Anniston, AL — With freezing temperatures expected to descend upon the region this weekend, the City of Anniston urges residents to take precautionary measures. In response to the forecasted weather conditions, a public warming station will be available at The Bridge, located within Anniston First United Methodist Church at 1400 Noble St, Anniston, AL 36201.
The warming station will operate from 5:00 PM CST in the evenings, providing shelter and warmth, and will close at 8:00 AM CST starting Sunday, December 10, 2023, until Tuesday, December 12, 2023. It is important to note that the station’s duration may be extended if weather forecasts necessitate adjustments.

Volunteer groups and organizations are encouraged to assist in meal preparations for breakfasts and dinners at the warming station. This initiative is made possible by the City of Anniston’s Community Task Force on Homelessness, spearheaded by the United Way of East Central Alabama in collaboration with Anniston First United Methodist Church, Interfaith Ministries of Calhoun County, MeMe’s Heart, and His Hands and Feet Ministries.
