Anniston, AL – The City of Anniston “Good Choices” Program extends a warm invitation to the community for the 22nd Annual “Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast and Youth Participation Day.” The event is scheduled to commence at 9:00 AM CST on Monday, January 15, 2024, at the Anniston City Meeting Center located at 1615 Noble St, Anniston, AL 36201.
A special award will be presented to the class with the largest participation, making it a friendly competition among all City and County Schools. The City of Anniston encourages students from various schools to join in and contribute to the success of this commemorative event. Participating students can sign in on-site on the day of the event or in advance by visiting www.annistonal.gov/mlk-sign-in.
The annual breakfast, sponsored by the City of Anniston Good Choices Program, serves as a platform to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The event aims to impart to the youth the significance of perpetuating Dr. King’s vision of a united and non-violent society. This impactful program includes various presentations, such as dance performances and poetic expressions, showcasing the local youth’s talent and commitment to the principles advocated by Dr. King.
Recognized as Youth Participation Day, the event strongly encourages the participation of students from all schools, both city and county, fostering a sense of unity and shared commitment to Dr. King’s ideals.
