ANNISTON, AL – The City of Anniston is now accepting resumes for appointment to the City Council seat representing Ward 3. This opportunity comes as the city seeks to fill the position with a qualified individual who meets specific criteria established under the City Manager Act of 1953.
Interested candidates must meet all five legal qualifications:

Minimum Age: Applicants must be at least 21 years old.

Residency Requirement: Applicants must currently reside in Ward 3 and maintain permanent residence in the ward throughout their term. Residency, as defined by Alabama law, refers to the applicant’s physical presence with the intent to remain in the district.

Voter Registration: Candidates must be registered voters.

No Conflicting Offices: Applicants cannot hold any other elected or paid public office, with the exception of service in the National Guard or military reserves.

Criminal Background: Individuals must not have been convicted of any crime involving moral turpitude.
Resumes must be submitted either in person to the City Manager’s Office at 1129 Noble Street, Anniston, AL 36201, or by email to citymanager@annistonal.gov. All submissions must be received no later than 4:00 PM CT on Monday, May 12, 2025.
