Piedmont, AL – During the Tuesday evening Piedmont City Council meeting, Mayor Bill Baker informed the Council the operational expenses for the past 2 weeks were $590,631.75, which included two weeks payroll. The bills were approved for payment.
The Council discussed resolution number 2024-16 which was declaring three items listed as add on Gov Deal to be sold to the highest bidder. The Council adopted this resolution.
There was no Police and Fire Report at this meeting.
Also, the Council was informed that $234,211.78 has been brought in to the City of Piedmont from items sold on Gov Deals. The Council voted to place that money into separate accounts for other city government areas. So, they will have their own funds to use as they see fit. This was approved unanimously by the Council.
City Clerk Carl Hinton informed the Council they have interviewed two people for two 12-hour positions at the library, and he said the Civic Center really looks nice.
Mayor Baker then thanked the Council and all City employees for their hard work. The restaurant at Fagan’s Park is shaping up but there is still some work to be done.
The next City of Piedmont Council Meeting will be October 15th.
