Sylacauga, AL – With Weaver grad Herbert at the helm, B.B. Comer takes down Central Coosa for area title, advances to subregional play.
Marcus Herbert has his team one win away from the Central Regional.
Chris Wilson’s 21 points and 11 rebounds led the way as B.B. Comer downed Central Coosa 52-39 in Thursday’s Class 2A, Area 8 tournament.
Coached by Herbert, the Weaver grad and former Weaver head boys’ basketball and track coach, the Tigers (20-5) will play host to Southeastern in the subregional round Saturday at 6 p.m.
Devin Harvey added 14 points for B.B. Comer, and the Tigers limited Central to one double-figure scorer … C Thompson, with 17 points.
Besides Wilson, Comer’s Cam Gaddis, Raelon Sims and Kamore Harris made the all-tournament team. Harris was MVP.
