Calhoun County, AL — The Community Foundation of Northeast Alabama has announced the addition of Karrie Parker as its External Relations and Office Coordinator. brings previous experience in public relations and healthcare to the position. Her background includes communicating with communities on behalf of organizations and working in roles focused on serving others.
Parker earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language Arts with a minor in History from Jacksonville State University. She also holds an associate degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Highlands College in Rome, Georgia.
According to information provided by the foundation, Parker and her husband, Taylor, enjoy spending time in their local community. Her interests include reading and crafting, and she attends Edgewood Church in Anniston.
The Community Foundation of Northeast Alabama works to connect charitable giving with needs throughout the region through grantmaking, educational scholarships, partnerships and initiatives supporting nonprofit and community organizations.
During the previous year, the foundation awarded more than $3 million in grants and scholarships across its nine-county service area, which includes Calhoun, Cherokee, Clay, Cleburne, DeKalb, Etowah, Randolph, St. Clair and Talladega counties.
