JACKSONVILLE, AL — Councilman Terry Wilson has formally announced his campaign for reelection to the Jacksonville City Council, Place 3, in the upcoming municipal election. With years of service and a background in both business and community engagement, Wilson is seeking to continue his role in shaping the future of the city.
Wilson brings over 25 years of business experience to the council, supported by academic credentials in business and personnel counseling from Jacksonville State University. A longtime resident of Jacksonville, Wilson emphasizes his deep ties to the community, where he and his wife have lived for more than five decades and where three generations of his family currently reside.
“I’m running for reelection because I believe in Jacksonville’s future,” Wilson stated. “My experience has taught me the value of working together, building relationships, and making smart, forward-thinking decisions. I want to keep using these strengths to help our city thrive.”
Since joining the City Council, Wilson has prioritized collaboration, fiscal responsibility, and pragmatic decision-making. He has advocated for strong partnerships among citizens, local business leaders, and city officials. One of his stated goals for a potential next term is to maintain this spirit of cooperation and continue support for essential city services, including the Police, Fire, EMT, and Street Departments.
Education also remains a key focus for Wilson. He notes his personal connection to the local school system, with grandchildren attending Kitty Stone Elementary and family members who are alumni of Jacksonville High School.
“Service is about not thinking of oneself, but thinking of the citizens of Jacksonville,” Wilson said, reaffirming his dedication to representing community interests and investing in the city’s future.
The municipal election is scheduled to take place later this year.
