County Traffic Stop Results in Large Meth Arrests

Meth Arrest in Calhoun County Cover

Calhoun County, AL – On February 21, 2023, at approximately 11:12 pm, a Calhoun County Deputy patrolling in Hobson City observed a vehicle on Wilkerson Drive fail to stop at a stop sign. The deputy initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver later identified as, George William Clifton, 65. During the interaction the deputy could see open containers of alcohol and detected an odor of marijuana. The deputy had the Clifton and the passenger, Taurean Dior Harris, 40, exit the vehicle while he conducted a search.

Upon completion of the search, the deputy was able to locate a small amount of Marijuana, Cocaine, and approximately 31.5 grams of Methamphetamine. Both Harris and Clifton were taken into custody and transported to the Calhoun County Jail. The charges can be seen below.
